Frequently Asked Questions

  • We are among a very small percentage of chiropractors in Northern Virginia that specialize in chiropractic care for women, children, and families. We are a PX-trained and a Webster Technique-certified center too!

We also utilize a state of the art technology called the INSiGHT Scans to assess the function of the nervous system, which controls every system in the body from digestion and hormonal balance to muscular coordination and respiration, so we can address the root cause of conditions rather than take a solely musculoskeletal approach that chiropractors often follow. This allows us to provide neuro-focused care that is catered to each member’s individual needs without any guess-work!

  • The initial visit at Aura Chiropractic is valued at $220 and includes an in-depth health history, consultation, and examination with the INSiGHT scans. The $220 also covers the second visit which includes the report of findings and personalized care plan recommendation. Every person receives a custom plan unique to their health goals and needs and this ensures they get the care they need! Adjustments are valued at $75 but with the customized care plan, pricing is discounted 10-15%.

  • We want to provide our members with the care we know they need based on our extensive exam process.

Insurance companies only allow what they think you need, not what you actually need. We work for and with YOU, not an insurance biller.

For members who have an insurance plan that covers chiropractic care, we will provide a “superbill” which has all of the diagnostic codes that your insurance company needs to see in order to provide you with out-of-network reimbursement.

We strive to provide the best quality care while keeping it affordable, especially for families! Aura provides many different payment plans, both for individuals and families, to help meet everyone's needs. We choose to allow each practice member to choose what is best for themselves and their families. In our office, we work for YOU, not a premium!

  • Your first office visit will consist of a consultation, a health history, and a set of nervous system scans, called the INSiGHT Scans.

We stand by the belief that getting to know our practice members and what is going on in their body is vital to ensure a proper personalized care plan.

During your second visit we will present your initial exam findings, including the INSiGHT scans, and go over your customized and specific care plan. We will also leave time for any questions you may have, and then you’ll receive your first adjustment!

  • Absolutely, you can use your FSA and HSA funds for all our services, regardless of your insurance carrier.

  • Childbirth is a stressful and potentially traumatic event for baby and mama. All births whether long or short, natural, assisted or cesarean can put a lot of pressure on your baby’s spinal cord and nervous system. Prioritizing specific chiropractic adjustments as early as possible can ease the stress and tension in your baby’s nervous system to allow your child to adapt to their new world with ease.

Children are going through massive amounts of neuro-development while simultaneously being exposed to viruses, micro and macro-traumas, stress, and many other things that can affect their growth. Chiropractic care helps restore the function of their nervous system so their body can heal, adapt, and grow despite any challenges they may face.

  • Research shows that perinatal chiropractic care contributes to a calmer and more at-ease pregnancy and labor with a quicker recovery for both mom and baby. It improves the balance and alignment of the spine and pelvis, therefore leading to a more comfortable pregnancy and delivery for mother and baby.

By restoring balance to the nervous system through gentle and specific nervous system-centered chiropractic adjustments, optimal function is restored to the reproductive organs, thus supporting your baby's needs throughout pregnancy. Mom’s nervous system IS baby’s nervous system during pregnancy, so optimizing mom’s nervous system function couldn’t be more important for the development and growth of baby. Dr. Christian and Dr. Laura are certified in Webster Technique from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA).

  • At Aura Chiropractic in Arlington, VA, we believe in personalized care tailored to each individual's needs. Our chiropractors take the time to understand your health goals, perform thorough evaluations, and develop customized care plans that consider your unique circumstances and promote optimal family wellness.

  • As soon as you feel ready! Our pregnancy care plans offer a complimentary at-home visit for both mom and baby after delivery. We understand the importance of making sure recovery is as smooth as possible in postpartum.

  • We hope to see your little one as soon as you are ready to bring them into the office. Our evaluation of your little one will include a thorough history starting with how the pregnancy, birth, and immediate postpartum experiences have gone, as well as what's working and not working right now. We will also perform nervous system scans at their first appointment. Our doctors have extensive training in pediatrics via The Pediatric Experience (PX) and ICPA.

  • Our scans give us a comprehensive assessment of the nervous system as it is presently functioning. They are non-invasive and do not involve radiation.

→ The HRV scan shows us how well you adapt to and recover from life stressors.

→ The Surface EMG scan measures the energy that’s being distributed in your muscles/body, looking for asymmetries and possible energy leaks.

→ The Thermal scan measures the temperature along your spine showing any stress/inflammation in your nervous system and where dysregulation has taken hold.

All are perfectly safe for pregnant women and children and give us excellent data as to where your body needs the most help.
